Requirements before the deadline

Explicitly supports high-school participants. The official 2026–27 guideline lists the Secondary division as eligible and requires teams of 2–4 competitors.

  • Develop an original medical innovation and build a physical prototype.
  • Provide evidence for the need and explain healthcare quality, delivery, and cost implications.
  • Create a digital outline of no more than 13 content slides plus references and upload it as one PDF.
  • Qualify through the applicable local/state HOSA process before the ILC route.
  • Bring the exhibit and attend the required in-person display time at ILC.
